The European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education (EASNIE) (Citation 2015) describes AfL as a “qualitative” type of assessment procedure that informs teachers about students’ learning through collecting evidence (using tools such as observations and questioning) to guide the next steps in learning (for example, through feedback).
