Edit: thanks for the help. I managed to get to level 100 after using some food to up my luck. Save your staircases for the monster infested floors. Otherwise just bomb bomb bomb, don't even bother with the pickaxe. Eat some foods that buff speed like coffee and spicy eel I think. Do it on a good luck day.
