Try killing it without using any firearms :). I thought you can't use anyt so i did it that way. Took maybe 15-20 hits to down that beast. Once you dodge the first few attacks he circels you for a while and then just starts running away - i cornered it at some hill and stabbed a few times.
Once you skin it you should get perfect rabbit pelt. Do this three times and you will complete the Master Hunter 2 challenge. You can donate the carcass to camp or sell it to trappers. Buy Varmint rifle from a gunsmith. Once you see a rabbit follow its tracks by using Eagle Eye. Make sure it is 3 star quality.
