It's damage, for a greatsword, is mediocre, and the DEX is surpassed by other weapons like the Drakeblood Sword. On a Fire Drakeblood Sword +5 with Dark Infusion, I was dealing an average of almost 60 more damage per hit than the Loyce did under the same circumstances. I get that the moveset is unique and fast and it's basically Claymore 2.0.

With those stats either one will be pretty decent with a Lightning infusion. Claymore is a lot like the Longsword: it's rarely the best answer for a problem but it's usually a decent one. Drakeblood is the shortest greatsword but it has really high counter damage, making it one of the best boss shredders in the game. Mistakenly farmed Loyce Souls thinking it would get me the GS... ended up with the Eleum Loyce. I have anything in the game to trade pretty much, and could upgrade stuff for you! I would also take a partner to help me get the sword legit!

Ruler's is even more powerfull by another 50 DMG. Try out the Loyce greatsword. The 1H moveset is the same (I think), and the 2H moveset is a mixture of broadsword attacks, estoc pokes and greatsword swings.
