Kimber custom ii 10mm problems.

I went to the range yesterday with my new Kimber Custom II. I loaded Hornady Critical Duty in both Kimber and after market magazines. Neither magazine would feed the 175gr 10mm bullets. I have a Kimber Custom Pro Raptor II and have never had a problem feeding a variety of 45 shells through it. The round does not appear to be nose diving, but becomes jammed as it enters the barrel. It is also gouging the brass in the same spot every time it cycles whether it feeds or not. Feb 19, 2021 · Remove the extractor. Lock the slide open. Seat a fully loaded magazine. Allow the slide to move forward at full speed by pushing down on the slide stop. If the first round out of the mag feeds fine, the extractor is the problem. It has incorrect geometry, too much deflection, too much tension, or all three.

For whatever reason, after 100 rounds, the problem went away. Have since put 3 other types of ammo through it and I can’t get it to FTF. The disproportional relationship that mag had with this gun seems to have worked itself out.

In the short term I bought a bunch of 180 grain CCI Blaze fmj. From what I can tell it’s about middle of the road for 10mm ammo.It is awesome and I’ve caught a 10mm bug. The good: The guns I had were actually reliable, no major issues in terms feeding, ejecting/jamming. At one time I thought Kimber was the top of the food chain, I really did have pride of ownership with them!Have about 500-600 rounds through it, never a problem. I had a Kimber Custom TLE/RL 10mm. Like the other Kimbers that I had, they were all decent 1911's. They are definitely better, out of the box, than any Colt Govt, Combat Commander, and Delta Elite 1911's that I have ever owned. But, there certainly are better 1911's than Colt or Kimber.

Remove the firing pin if you want to be extra cautious. Seat a fully loaded magazine. Depress the slide stop to allow the slide to move forward at full speed. To test it, I swapped barrels with my 10mm Stainless II and the result was the same with the Stainless II barrel in the Raptor slide. The Raptor barrel in the Stainless II slide with the same mag chambered just fine by racking the slide. I’d never fire it like this but manually working the slide it operated. This was the result I expected.

The next two didn't seem to hit anything. The range master said they went in the same hole just making it a bit bigger. Couldn't complain about that.
