Just download the cia and install that. QR installation probably won't come back, at least in this form. Pretty sure qr still works. Is just that you can't download from media fire directly. uh, they added QR back in a couple of weeks ago, you also had the option of using a separate app to do it before that.

Just extract RetroArch folder to the root of your SD card RetroArch.cia anywhere else, to install cores use FBI installer. Go to the RetroArch folder and open the Cores folder. Select and install the Cores you want to use. For example; install pcsx_rearmed_libretro.cia for Playstation 1 Roms.
I've had QR code installs crash a few times before too, but I've noticed it depends on the game, the size, or just an RNG type thing that it'll randomly crash while installing for some unknown reason.
