The Recoil Spring Assembly, RSA, came out of alignment somehow and was preventing the rotation of the takedown lever. I manipulated the RSA that was exposed while the slide was locked rearward. The slide sits about 1/8" from the back end of the frame, but racks ok and can be locked back with the release/catch. Also, can't get the slide off of the frame, now. Can't insert a mag, can't pull trigger fully. Oddly, if the lever in the 7 o'clock position and I pull the trigger, the lever rotates to 5 o'clock.

I removed the back plate and took out the striker assembly, and striker safety and spring. The slide then could come off freely. The take down pin seems stuck in the trigger mecinism.

Much easier to rotate for field stripping over OEM. I haven't noticed any benefit for recoil control, but I do tend to have a rather firm grip. It stops short when hitting g this part of the FCU, which is raised up higher than on my other two FCU's ( which sit just below the frame rails). There's spring tension on it and I can push it down a bit, but the slide won't past it.
