The Reverse of the 1994 Penny. The 1994 penny has an image of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on the reverse. It's the same image that had been used since 1959, and it was the work of Frank Gasparro. At the time he designed it, he was Assistant Engraver at the Mint. He was promoted to Chief Engraver in 1965, a position he held until 1981.
