Enter turn based mode, shoot one of the petrified drows, spawn Spectator, if you hopefully did it right it won’t begin combat it’ll just spawn and patrol. Once it drifts near the barrels, shoot a fire bolt at the barrels and nuke the damn Spectator. Took a few tries but we eventually lined it up and one shot the thing.
Basilisk Oil. The game doesn't have a Stone to Flesh spell, just the other way around. you can hit them and kill them and get their loot directly. B oil is rare and trust me, these guys are not worth a vial of it. I sat there mashing A over and over again, grinning like a madman, taking out drow after petrified drow with no retaliation. I had to leave one drow with 4 HP, so I could sock him with an arrow to start the fight proper without getting too close. Then it was just a matter of stacking damage.
To save you some trouble: The only thing worth de-petrifying seems to be the drow leader near selune's outpost in the underdark. However, if you do so, he'll just attack you after he tells you his story. He has some worthwhile loot, but the easier way to get this is to just do the spectator fight normally.
