Honda odyssey hood latch not working.
I noticed a similar problem with my 2017 CR-V shortly after delivery last year. The remote start would work inconsistently. The dealer traced it to a balky sensor. The sensor woulld not consistently reister that the hood was closed. I believe the dealer replaced the hood latch sensor and that solved the problem. Not open for further replies.

Check pages 121-123 for power tailgate operation. If you have a fob with you, the tailgate will ALWAYS open using the button on the tailgate. The 'when unlocked' or 'anytime' setting is only for the remote, I believe. Disconnecting the plug to the hood latch switch indicates to the system that the hood is closed. If the hood latch switch was the problem then that fixes it, though leaving the hood unprotected. 2. Shorting out the plug (i.e., connecting the two wires together) indicates to the system that the hood is open.
With the bulb replaced the tail light works. As indicated on the diagram the left tail, both inners and the licence plate lights are on the G552 ground. I verified that the ground works and no power is coming in on the red/black positive wire as indicated on the diagram. The diagram isn't detailed enough to say where the red/black wire comes from.
