If fuel economy is important my 4Runner with 4 cylinder engine got 17-22 mpg, probably averaging 19-20 and on interstate at 65 mph closer to 17. My RTL-E has averaged 22.7 mpg for the 9000 miles. Only took one long interstate trip and at 65 mph was getting 27 mpg. PS-am 3 years "younger" than you at 68.
