We headed up I-95 from I-20 (exit 160) to SC 327 (exit 170) to drop a vehicle at the Pee Dee River landing at SC 34, then on to the landing on sc 15/401 outside of Society Hill, SC. It was chilly as we descended the steep concrete ramp to the river. A blanket of Fog hitched a ride with the current, which moving at a steady pace.
What to Expect. This is a full day or overnight paddle along the Great Pee Dee River, one of South Carolina's most mighty rivers. In this section, the river starts relatively straight, providing a leisurely float past densely forested banks.
