Check battery voltage, 12.7, check voltage at starter wire, disconnected, 12.6. Just because it is cheap, change the condenser and be sure it is on the + side of the coil, not the neg like a points system.Put a jumper from the battery Posative to the pos. coil. hook the condensorto the Neg side. You should get the same measurement between the red wire and almost any big piece of clean metal on the tractor. Running great and working hard, then it just died sounding like it ran out of gas. Gave it a spray of starter fluid (the kind with lube in it). Would start to start up, but not quite & then die. Just prior, I had done a complete tune-up, new fluids, etc - the whole works. It started right up, ran for 15 minutes and quit. No spark to the plugs!
