Frontier is made for Hornady using their bullets but at the Lake City plant using LC brass. The discoloration is from the annealing process. Most manufacturers do this but on premium ammo the brass is polished before loading. It's good ammo. I use their 5.56 75 grain ammo almost exclusively in most of my rifles.
