I had 275/70/17 KO2s on TRDP wheels before I lifted my 4Runner with no rubbing. I really think it depends on the vehicle itself. 275/70/17 would likely clear, 285/70/17 would likely NOT clear. With 285/70/17, you would likely need to push your fender liner in a bit, maybe do a BMC (body mount chop). 275/70/17 (32.16″) or around there would be as high as you may be able to go without cutting/trimming. You never know though, every setup is different.
