Eg4 6500ex inverter.
Pretty much i need the inverter or ats to switch to the grid once's the battery reaches 20% and back to off grid sub panel when then battery are charged at 80%. Not sure if the eg4 6500ex can do it. Yes. They come with an ATS. You'll see those settings in the manual.
After some quick online shopping, #4 copper THHN + conduit comes to about $1600, and 2-2-2-4 aluminum URD is about $475. Aluminum is looking attractive, but Signature Solar strongly recommends against using aluminum. Also, it looks like the EG4 6500 terminals might not be big enough for 2 AWG, and aren't rated for AL/CU.The 6500EX does have a removable bonding screw. Will shows it in one of his videos. I left mine in. YMMV. As to the generator question, I spoke to Signature and they recommended not running a gen direct into the EG4 due to the dirtiness of the power. Since both inverter max charge is 120 amp each to the battery i think my 300 amp bus bar its enough . Now if would install a 3rd inverter then bus bar must to be changed to 400 amp. Current plan is to move individual circuits from the main street panel, to the sub panel to run off the inverters, with no connection between the sub-panel to the main street panel.As per the instructions, I connect my phone to the wifi module of the inverter. This seems to work. Then it asks for the log in info for my local wireless network. The "scale" was just off and using the inverter values to monitor on Solar Assistant battery values was no good.
