Welcome to our shop and our community, When the idea of The Simple Folk began, our partners thought we’d lost our minds. Between the two of us, we had two newborns, two toddlers, four companies, and three dogs. Needless to say, another project wasn’t the most logical choice…. But the best things in life aren’t always the most logical. The melody is from a Baptist gospel hymn recorded by the Carter Family. Guthrie wrote the lyrics and used the melody to create this iconic country-folk tune. With four simple chords A, D, G, D7, and a moderate tempo basic strum pattern, it is an easy tune to learn and master. You can play the song to any audience to sing together. Something went wrong.
