While a lightly modified thinset may work, with a 12x24 tile I would stick with an unmodified. The center portion of that tile will get very little of the air it needs to dry properly. Use a good quality unmodified, trowel thinset on the floor, and flat-trowel on the back of each tile. Using an unmodified will also preserve your warranty.
