For anyone fighting with regular Grimarillion crashes, turning off Auto Item Tooltips under Interface settings (which show item description on mouseover) fixed the stability issue I've been having lately too. I'm running v74a and recently upgraded from v73c and at least those versions had this issue.Slightly easier version of Grimarillion. Still plenty of increased mobs, more heroes/bosses to fight with. This was the only way I could circumvent the templates that are hard-coded for 4 player scaling. You would need to create multiple builds of Grimarillion in order to accommodate different player counts, and your desired difficulty scaling. I could certainly try re-building Grimarillion with my mod included and see if it works okay.
