The National Board aims to strengthen the career continuum for teachers by offering ATLAS, Accomplished Teaching, Learning and Schools®. ATLAS is a library of authentic video cases showing National Board Certified Teachers at work in the classroom. Access to more than 1,400 cases covering most subjects, grades and school settings. Becoming a National Board Certified Teacher. National Board Certification involves a 1-3 year process in which candidates submit four components that show evidence of accomplished practice. This is a voluntary process, created by teachers and assessed by teachers. There are 25 certificate areas that cover most teachers or school counselor roles.
