Running Trip Report. Oct 28, 2023, 6:40 PM. Save. Hi all, happy to be back on island. Travel day uneventful. Car from Amalie…we have had the same gray Jeep past 3 visits, license is 666. I told them they need a new license plate haha. Car barge running well, got groceries, and unloaded our stuff at the house. Relatively speaking, St. John is a very safe place. We are not immune to crime, but most of our crime is of the non violent type, burglary probably the biggest. You will want to use normal precautions such as locking your car and villa, don't go looking for illegal substances, don't get falling down drunk and wander around town at night, that sort of thing. I keep a day's worth with me for walking around money and the rest in the safe. Credit cards are accepted at more places these days, but some do not accept AmEx.1. Save. Driving on St John can be intimidating for first timers. In addition to driving on the left there are steep hills up and down and if you want to go to Cinnamon there is a tricky switch back.
